Being extremely partial to "old world" style wines, we hadn't considered Australian wines for our book. Until we met Dean Hewitson.
With vineyards in prime vineyard locations in the Adelaide Super Zone of South Australia, Hewitson produces wines with balance and elegance that, as Eric Asimov would say, defeat the stereotype. Considering that Hewitson vineyards include some of the oldest vines in the world, they are at a distinct advantage in producing superb terroir-driven wines. When we tried Hewitson's wines, we honestly couldn't believe the quality!
We're honored to feature Hewitson's flagship Old Garden Mourvedre—from vines planted in 1853, and its Baby Bush, grown from seléctions massale. Hewitson's Lulu Sauvignon Blanc is also an absolute delight.
Call us for a tasting of these first-class wines. You're in for a treat!
