A White Wine that’s Got it All

Let me guess - you've got some guests who want "trendy", others like "classic"; some who want to hear a story, others who just want something delicious.

And everyone wants value.

Oh, and your accountant wants more margin.

For all these reasons, Fattori Soave Classico “Runcaris” merits consideration. Volcanic soils, organic farming, hillside vineyards, ancient history, versatile like a Sauvignon Blanc, a "trending" category (with recent coverage in NYT, Forbes, W&S, Decanter, Vinous, Jancis, LinkedIn) and under two digits wholesale, can you afford not to give it a shot?

You may have heard some of the recent buzz about Soave. Now that the Consorzio designated 33 new "UGA" (essentially sub-appellation) zones, there’s been a new-found appreciation for this historic area.

Of course, some of Soave’s producers have been making world-class wines for decades.

Antoni Fattori is one of them. Almost fifty years ago, New Zealand-trained Fattori moved his family's estate to higher elevations in the original Soave Classico zone, in a quest to make a crisp, aromatic Soave.

And he did it. Fattori Runcaris Soave Classico has a citrus and mineral driven character that Sauvignon Blanc fans will love. Stylistically, Pra is perhaps the best comparison. Yet, Fattori’s production is just a quarter as much, making it a great “under-the-radar” find.

I know you like to do your research. And you might find another wine organically grown in volcanic hillside soils, in a historic area, with tons of recent press, in small production, that speaks to domestic Sauvignon Blanc fans, for a better value.

Then again, maybe you won't.
